DESIGN CONCEPT
Dr Winkler is situated in Somerset West CBD. It was the renovation of an existing building to create consulting rooms. It was completed 2016.
The entire inside of the existing building was demolished as it did not suit the layout required by the client. Only three outside walls remained after the demolition was done. The brief was for the space to be bright, light and welcoming to patients. It had to be simple yet sophisticated. The style is Contemporary with a Scandinavian flair. The original timber flooring was salvaged and re-used throughout the project to reflect the character of the original building.
